Introducing 'Ankara Lampshades' by Dezine Konnections Interior Design

Am sure you all have been wondering why I have been so so quiet. Well I have been getting my 'game on' in the world of handmade design. Still falling with the realm of interior design. The love of handmade pieces is currently very trendy and I don't see it tapering off. At all.

Have you ever wanted something different within your home to give it that
extra 'umph'? Limited editions and one-offs but affordable by all. Well look no further as  Ankara fabric handmade lampshade are the way to go. Trust me .... am a designer. I know these things. Or even go a step further and have your very own unique bespoke lampshade made using your own fabric. And it doesn't have to be Ankara. We will create one to suit your taste.

Ankara or African wax print is a traditional African fabric but surprisingly not originally made in Africa. Holland first introduced Africans to the material and is also commonly known as Dutch Wax. Nigerians and many other Africans wear Ankara like it's going out of fashion.

Funnily enough it has only recently gained international reputation even though Africans have been wearing Ankara for decades. It is seen as the everyday wear and also the stylish going out wear. It so very versatile that it can be used not only for wearing but also for interior design soft furnishing and accessories for the both home and office spaces.

I'm going to start naming my handmade Ankara fabric lampshades to give them a bit more edge! But am sure you can see that the one above is so chic. That IS the beauty of Ankara.

I know it’s a cliché, but seriously, 'look no further!' Ankara Lampshades by Dezine Konnections Interior Design are very innovative, uniquely designed and affordable for all.

We are now open at http://www.etsy.com/shop/AnkaraLampshades
