Tangerine Tango - The Colour of 2012

The moment all designers have been waiting for. Interior, fashion, graphic & product. We are all inter-related. Finally Pantone, the world authority on colour has announced and declared that 'Tangerine Tango' will be 2012's colour of the year.

Now that's a very sweet and colour. My kinda colour.

So the question is .....what exactly IS 'Tangerine Orange'? According to Pantone's press release:
Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.
“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

Now that is very powerful. So watch out all designers in all fields (anyone interested in colours actually) there will be vibrant splashes of  Tangerine Tango everywhere.

I think this tangerine orange will renew and lift our spirits in the New Year. All the doom and gloom of the state of the economy this past year certainly we need a bright, reddish and energetic colour.

}My take on Tangerine Tango ~ It's Sassy, Vibrant, Rich. It will find a place to fit everywhere. You will love it as I do and I can see it in upcoming design themes in 2012~

We Wish you a Merry Christmas ..........

Here's wishing you all a "VERY MERRY XMAS" from Dezine Konnections Interior Designs.

Time to be with family and friends, be joy and merry. But also time to reflect on the the less fortunate ones in the world ~ don't forget the reason for the season!!! And make the best of it.

Unfortunately it isn't a 'White Christmas' here in the UK (although we had snow the previous week). Maybe in 2012 (fingers crossed).

And these are a few of my favourite colours ..............In theme!

Blending a lot of bright colours together does work as long as you get the balance and tones right for the space available.

Snow White Inspired rooms

As we had our first proper snowfall in Letchworth Garden City overnight and the most part of the morning (not the little flurry of snowflakes or the little tiny balls of hailstones this time), I was inspired to share with you some 'Snow White' designed rooms.

This could be Snow White's bedroom updated to meet present day design themes!

The colour white represents purity and coolness. It makes a space airy and more spacious especially when walls and ceiling are painted white. White is a very neutral colour.

This laundry room below is very clean and looks quite contemporary with it's white interior. I bet you, even I would enjoy doing my washing, drying and ironing in here.

Am all for this white kitchen and yes I know it might be a nightmare to keep clean. But I must say it looks dead white gorgeous!

Now this is good enough for any sleeping 'baby' beauty.

}My take on Snow White inspired spaces ~ They are very calming, very relaxing and very spacious~

Anyone needing a Christmas garland ..................

All sorts of christmassy garlands have come out of the closet this season especially now that people are feeling the pinch. The trend I've been experiencing is a mix of traditional and shabby-chic. Recycling and 'Upcycling' are the latest buzz words used in home furniture and accessories as well as fashion.

Have you had breakfast yet? This garland is made out of fruity cheerios and popcorn.

What does your Christmas Wreath say about you?

I am always fascinated at this time of the year with the creative christmas wreath displays in peoples homes, shops, shopping centres, community halls, churches, schools. You find them everywhere really.

A christmas wreath is a basically made up of leaves (could be green, orange and brown), dried winter fruits, flowers, twigs etc.(you get my drift). It represents the 'coming of christ' and you find them adorned literally everywhere during the advent season.

This beautiful brown christmas wreath is from Pottery Barn. I like it very much. I love it's simple design.

As the 'Shabby-Chic' and 'Vintage' trends are in vogue now, here are some fabulous wreaths I've discovered along my trails ..............................

Isn't the teddy bear just adorable? This can be bought at Wild Mountain Wreaths where you'll find a whole load more.

Some christmas wreaths shy away from the traditional christmasy colours that we are used to. What do you think of this powder blue and white wreath?

What does your Christmas wreath say about? and out of interest where does it live?

}My take on Christmas Wreaths - Get creative, don't be afraid to stray from the norm, anything can be made into a wreath. Really!!~

The Home Office ~ WFH today?

So.............. today's blog post is about working from home. The trend that is continuously growing by the minute. We all now have all we need to create a home office at our finger tips due to amazing advances in information technology and computerised equipment.

Choose a spot that your comfortable in and works for YOU. That's what will make working from home more conducive and beneficial for you.

Image via trendhome.info

Home offices can be created out of the smallest spaces. By maximising what you've got, you do not need to splash out by buying more furniture.

This one below is compact, when your done with work you can actually leave work behind. Just close shop literally!!!! I'm loving the combo below.

Now this is what I call 'feeling at home'. Totally. Let your creative juices flow. Reminds me a bit of my very own home office. Will post a picture of my home office very soon. Watch this space!

}My take on Home Offices - So trendy, very conducive and you can always find a nook/corner/table  to create your very own~

Going back down 'retro' lane ....................

I don't know about you but I can never get enough of retro throwbacks. I'm not ashamed to say it but I do like a little bit of retro once in a while. Thus I like blogging about things I discover.
