Can you see the lighting on the wall?

I am always fascinated by the various light fittings that exist in homes, offices, art-deco cinemas, restaurants, bars and hotels. Just naming a few places where I particulaly scout out good lighting.

So instead of having big lamps sitting on your bedside tables why don't you let them hang from the wall just above the bed's headboard!

The main thing about
lighting is getting it right. They have to suit the need of the people who will be using them. So 'function' over 'beauty'. First and foremost.

These lovely kids bedroom wall lights are from Pottery Barn. Too cute even though I generally don't like bugs!

Here's a girls bedroom I worked on recently. She loves reading at night just before falling asleep, so this flower wall lighting coordinated well with the other colours used in her room.

Now counting sheep wall lights. Everyone counts sheep to fall asleep. 

A nice pair of giraffe wall lights. Very simple and creative.
