What's your take on Tiffany lamps?

I personally think that they are dainty, cute & uplifting. They came out during the Art Nouveau movement and are still making statements today. They are classics that will last forever. The first one was made c1895 or there so.

Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848 - 1933), whose father was the founder of Tiffany and Company (the famous jewelry store), brought these lamps to light - for want of a better word. He was an artist who made lamps out of stained glass (and also made stained leaded windows).

He had been a painter and was also an interior designer (designed Mark Twain's house as well as the interiors for the White House). He was a great craftsman and remembered more for being a stained glassmaker.

Charles used mixed unused scarp pieces of stained glass to create these wonderful lamps that we all love. He employed mainly unmarried women known as the "Tiffany girls" to make these lamps which are very intricate and come in many different designs. They come in seven which are Favrile, Irregular Upper Border, Lower Border, Geometric, Transition to Flower, Flowered Cone and Flowered Globed.
Here are a few lamps which I love ..................
